Miss Savannah State Crowned Miss NBCA

By Amanda Smith

Local beauty Erica-Christina Beauty Little was crowned a second time this past Saturday night.  Already holding the title of Miss Savannah State University 2006 – 2007, Miss Little was also crowned Miss NBCA (National Black College Alumni) for 2006 – 2007.

The daughter of Ronald and Linda Little, Miss Little is a graduating senior majoring in Vocal Performance.  She is on the SSU Dean’s List, National Dean’s List, a Silver Medallion Scholar, and a Laptop Scholar.  She is also involved in the Honors Program, Chairman of the Queens Coalition, Student Government Association Executive Board, Savannah State University Concert Choir, Sisters Striving For Excellence, to name just a few.

As a little girl, Miss Little always dreamed of becoming Miss Savannah State.  Both of her parents had graduated from the university and through the years, she has had the opportunity to observe past queens.  Seeing so many positive role models over the years spurred her dream to reality.

Homecoming festivities will be going on all of the week of October 15 – 21, 2006 with Miss Little’s crowning being held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 8:00 pm.  At that time, she will officially become Miss Savannah State University.

Add to this distinction the fact that Miss Little was also crowned Miss NBCA this past Saturday night at the Hyatt Regency Downtown in Atlanta, GA.  Each year, the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation holds the Competition of Black College Queens to showcase young African American women who have already been recognized by their respective college with the coveted title of “college queen”.  The Competition highlights the intellect, talent, and personalities of these young women and it was decided that Miss Little excelled above all others competing.

We congratulate Miss Little and her parents, loved ones, and friends on this esteemed honor and we wish her the best of luck and continued success in the future.
